The Hope Harbor Dream
Calloway County – Trigg County – Henry County
McCracken County - Christian County – Saline County
McCracken County - Christian County – Saline County
The dream of one church in multiple locations…
- The dream is to establish HHC in ten underrepresented communities by the year 2010 following the model and philosophy of HHC Calloway County.
- Each church is an extension of the home church. Each member of the satellite church is a member of HHC (with all benefits and responsibilities).
- Each new fellowship will share the name “Hope Harbor Church” with the name of the respective county: HHC Calloway County, HHC Trigg County, etc.
- The dream is to secure suitable meeting space for each church launch leading eventually to land and facility ownership in the counties of origin.
The dream of a church that transforms lives…
- The dream is to become the most aggressive soul-winning outreach in the area. We expect to see souls come to Christ weekly (as they do in Calloway County) through regular services, community outreaches, and effective evangelism training for individuals.
- We believe that God desires to literally transform the individual through private devotion and public worship.
- We expect people to be transformed through spiritual disciplines and through five points of transformation in public worship experiences: praise/worship, corporate prayer, giving, the message, and decision time.
- We believe that making room for the present day ministry and sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit is central to establishing a transformational church.
- We also believe that the uncompromised truth of God’s word is the key to our transformation, freedom, and victory and is therefore to be first place and final authority in the services and ministries of HHC.
- Our goal is to produce fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ evidenced first by salvation and then by specific behaviors: (1) worship enthusiastically ; (2) connect regularly; (3) grow in maturity consistently; (4) serve others unselfishly; (5) share one’s faith effectively; and (6) give of one’s resources generously.
The dream of a church that is strategic and intentional in its efforts…
- The dream is to establish a word-based and Spirit-filled church that is also purpose-driven, user-friendly and customized to maximize effectiveness in the communities HHC is established.
- Given that the United States now has the third most unchurched people in the world behind China and India, the dream will always be missionary in its mindset.
- As foreign missionaries attempt to find ways to communicate without compromise with their respective nations, so we will find innovative and creative ways to communicate with each county without compromising the word of God.
- We place a premium on life-change rather than external conformity to certain styles of worship or codes of dress. HHC church will focus on the purposes of worship, soul-winning, spiritual growth, relationships, and ministry service in the light of the unique cultural context of each community.
The dream of a church that is faithful to its own values…
- The dream is to live out our values rather than merely post them on the wall or disseminate them in church literature.
- We believe that ministry should be fundamentally word-based, excellent, relevant, passionate, strategic, participatory, diverse, life-changing & Holy Spirit directed.
The dream of a church with a clear and simple growth pathway…
- The dream is to help people grow by providing a simple three-step process for assimilating into the church, understanding principles for growth, and discovering ministry gifts.
- The three step process known as “The Growth Track” includes: (1) Come to Newcomers; (2) Attend the Growth Course; (3) Join a Small Group.
- The fruit being realized at HHC – Calloway County has truly been amazing. We have every reason to believe that the growth track will work in each HHC venue.
The dream of a church that is a refuge for restoring broken lives…
- The dream is to warmly receive people in distress due to the circumstances or choices of life and apply God’s mercy for their restoration – body, soul, and spirit.
- Just like a vessel battered by rough seas, people will come into the harbor to have their hulls repaired, their decks refinished, and the wind put back into theirs sails.
- The restored “vessels” are then trained to go out from the harbor to rescue other stranded and broken lives and bring them back for renewal and restoration.
- HHC offers specialized ministries like Celebrate Recovery to help individuals dealing with stubborn life-controlling issues.
The dream of a church that is team-built…
- The dream is to work together with quality, dedicated, called, and like-minded individuals to establish the church on biblical mandates rather than on denominational structures, personalities, gimmicks, or tricks.
- Our strategy involves (in fact demands) intensive leadership and ministry development through our growth track, ministry placement program, and Hope Harbor Bible College (through HHC Calloway County).
- We expect a tremendous spirit of grace and unity among the members of the leadership team and church at large manifested by cooperation, flexibility, compassion, and grace.
- Hope Harbor Church and all of its launch sites will share a common identity, structure, belief and value system as well as a common leadership structure.
